New Summer Releases: 61 Games and Two New Arcade Machines

Eight new games to start with

We're not going to list forty games here; that's what the library page is for. These are the ones worth building a visit around.

• Terminator Uprising. Up to eight players hold the line against the machines, across four difficulty settings that top out at a genuinely mean Nightmare mode.
• Dead Corps. A roguelike horde shooter. Sixteen maps, four campaigns, and a habit of letting you fight back with whatever's on hand when the ammo runs out.
• Don't Scream. One player at a time gets walked through a gauntlet of scares while everyone else watches from outside the headset and heckles. First scream loses.
• Beyond Medusa's Gate and Escape the Lost Pyramid. Two Assassin's Creed®-licensed VR escape rooms, one set in Ancient Greece, one in a lost 1928 expedition into the Sinai. Close to fifty minutes of puzzle-solving in either one.
• Monkey Madness. Twenty-five jungle mini-challenges, picked by your group or randomized, with no combat required to win.
• Plush Rush; you're plush-toy sized, defending a candy jar from an advancing army of toys. Tower defense at action-figure scale.
• Carnival Showdown. Balloon pops, balance tests, and marksmanship on a virtual midway. One of the easiest first VR games in the building.

The arcade is open too

Two new cabinets are running now on the Arcade & QBIX floor, no headset required.

Flash Hockey is a two-player air hockey table with a curve built into the surface on purpose — the puck comes back at angles you won't call, so a quick game tends to run long. LEDs run down the rails and legs, so the whole cabinet glows while you play. One puck, two players, straight head-to-head until somebody gives up.

Boxer Champion measures two different things: Power mode times who hits hardest, Reflex mode times who reacts fastest, and it's rarely the same person.

How you pay for it

Simulators, QBIX and the arcade, Flash Hockey and Boxer Champion included, all run on the same Game Credits card. Load anywhere from $10 to $50 at 20 credits per $1, and $30-and-up cards add bonus credits. +75 on $30, +150 on $40, +225 on $50. The credits don't expire, so there's no rush to burn through them in one visit.
